Meet Heather Rubio:
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate under the supervision of Christie Farris, LMFT-S, LPC-S. I specialize in working with preteens, teens, adults, couples, and families, focusing on relationship stress, infertility, and the transition to parenthood for both mothers and fathers. I use a blend of therapeutic approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Postmodern Therapy.
My journey to becoming a therapist began during my undergraduate years. I conducted research in behavioral neuroscience and worked as a teaching assistant. After graduation, I taught high school for four years, realizing my passion lay in forming relationships with students and helping them grow as individuals. This led me to pursue a career in therapy. While in my graduate program, I worked with students in foster care, deepening my understanding of trauma and attachment wounds. This knowledge guides my therapeutic approach, allowing me to meet clients where they are in their healing journey.
Outside of my profession, I cherish spending time with my family of three and friends. During my weekends off, you can find us exploring the outdoors or sharing meals and playing games with friends.
